“In 1998 I
returned to live in my native village of Bragar, on the
west coast of Lewis. I work a croft, and much of my
subject matter
comes from the landscape of Bragar with its associated
birds, animals and flowers. I think that the more
familiar you are with an area, the more you see in it.
I like walking the same routes over and over again,
making quick pencil and mixed media sketches which I
later work up into paintings in the studio.”
