A graduate of Gray's School of Art in
Aberdeen, Jenny Hunter's paintings have evolved from
memories as well as from visual information gathered
while travelling abroad. The architecture, in
particular of Barcelona, New York and Tenerife, has been
a valuable source of inspirations for her exhibitions.
The artist has also found a new awareness of the local
north-east Scottish landscape and includes those aspects
in her paintings. |

Working mainly in oils, my influences
come from many sources although architecture plays a
large part in my work. Travelling to cities such as
Prague, Barcelona, Madrid, New York and Amsterdam has
provided inspiration to paint cityscapes which I hope
capture the essence of these vibrant, exciting places.
In contrast, I am continually
surprised and impressed by the beauty of the Scottish
landscape and hope to convey a sense of atmosphere with
the use of colour and texture in my images. |
